This part of the module examines the continuing airworthiness system established under Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 and the associated implementing rules governing aircraft maintenance, continuing airworthiness management and operational airworthiness oversight throughout the aircraft operational life cycle. We will examine how aircraft are maintained in a condition for safe operation after entry into service and how continuing conformity with the approved type design is preserved throughout operational use. Particular attention will be given to CAMO responsibilities, maintenance oversight, technical records, defect management and the relationship between airworthiness and operational safety.
